Surface Tension, 2021

Surface Tension is a series of 12 prints, each made using a different object of debris found along the San Francisco Bay coastline. The object used to make the print is shown alongside the print in each image. These ‘portraits’ amplify and celebrate this insignificant discarded piece of trash. The striking color vibration of the neon red on the brown background create fields of constant motion much like the churning surface of the ocean.
